i am afraid that i have no deep thoughts this morning. perhaps they will come as time passes me by, slipping into the future- reminder by polish barbie.

a question arises concerning my identity. i have used many names and most of them i still use under various occasions. a quick summary of facts:
+ i was born ying-ting. with my asian privilege comes with certain other things.
+ in grade school and at home, i am "ying-ting" or "ying" or "tingting" (by grade school friends).
+ from jr high and up, in the states, i started to go by "christine." "christine" is a nice name with few incorrect, abnormal pronunciation methods and it still resonates well with ying-ting.
+ in high school, close friends would call me "chris."
+ in college, a new interesting nickname came about- tsengster. love it. close friends would call me "christine", "tingling", "tseng", or "tsengster" based on their chosen mood of the day.
+ in college, my funny roommate kate would call me "christinie" when she wanted to whine or play, or "chrissy" when she would be angry with me trying to bewitch me out.
+ post college, while exchanging secret recipes with polish barb, she would invent names for me, such as "tingaroo", "tsengy tseng"... etc.
+ post college, at the sleep lab, they call me christine, because they liked to "stay professional."
+ post college, at starbucks, carlos decided that "christine" was too long of a name to put on my cash register tags. i am simply "tseng." as most looks at it with a confused grimace, i know that tall guy pearce-paul walker cross of jamie from starbucks secretly wants to call me "chrissie."

all of these names remain with me. one for every occasion. what is my name? SAY MY NAME!
