Who Would Have Thought...

who would have thought that starbucks has emerged itself as an all-purpose, all-age bridge to bonding for all generations.

as my friend and i tried to unwind last night after an edutaining viewing of "american wedding," she took me to a late night starbucks. this is no surprise, as my friends and i would customarily hang out at starbucks, late night, when we would all be in town visiting at the same time. this is no ordinary starbucks, it, conveniently located at trendy, uptown post oak, directly across from the houston galleria (boasting 4th largest upscale shopping mall in US), is open 24 hours.

meanwhile, here i am, thinking that my starbucks is so cool, open 24 hrs. i always thought that only chicago, L.A., NYC would be busy enough for 24-hr starbucks in replacement of 7-11. if houston has a 24-hr starbucks, it'd only mean that dallas, seattle, atlanta, boston... etc etc should deserve 24-hr service as well. WOW! in addition to time convenience, starbucks also offers (too much) candy and decaf products for children and amateurs, stuffed animals (termed limited collection), muppets, city-souvenir mugs, blah, all besides the all-so-familiar food and bev's and friendly baristas. how else will it influence our lives!?
