hmm... i have not much to blog about today, but i feel like i should blog something...

let's see, i had a pretty good weekend, except for stupid friday night, of course. on saturday i had to work most of the day- we were pretty busy but i was fortunately not stuck on the register most of the time. i was able to "float" around, expediting, make bar drinks, make frappucinos, and still do some register when my feet were giving out. then after that, my friends who were lacking in communication skills decided to ditch me/fail to communicate promptly for the "crush of old town wine festival", so i just went by myself to check it out.

it was pretty cool. basically, the event was at the corner of north and wells, directly across from my starbucks. there were like 2 or 3 tents of wine tasting set up. each tent there were about 4 or 5 wine vendors and each of them were offering several distinct reds and whites. at entrance, you could pay $10 for a souvenir wine glass and taste all you want. great deal!! ;) i am a red person so i tried tons of reds. as barb knows, i am less passionate about shiraz, as it is a bit too spicy for my taste. i tried many shiraz that were offered there; surprisingly, i found one that was very smooth with a long finish that i liked!!! i think it's from the delicato family vineyards in monterey, CA. perhaps i should look into order some!! there were also several vendors that were selling cheese, fruit, fried calamari and the yummy stuff. unfortunately i didnt feel like eating.

then in the evening i went to my friends' house near midway, just chilled. oh oh oh, i had brown's chicken for the first time. yummy!

then sunday was a fun day. we went to the CUBS game. of course, the cubs lost 0-1 to the reds. damn it, and we lost in the 9th inning! freakin'...!! afterwards, we went back to my friends clara and sara's apt and watched the BEARS game. that was also a very very sad game. we had beer and ribs from robinson's, so i guess the food made up for the day of losses... almost.

today, monday, we were learning about the history of pharmacy and other health professions education in our "roles and communications" class. pharmacists ARE your friends! so during prohibition, pharmacies became popular fountain and tavern hang outs because pharmacists could *legally* dispense medicinal alcohols... why do you think you see the vials of sherry and bourbon in the clinical pharmacies!! hahahahahaha...
