with basia and peter in wisco, i actually managed to survive without emailage and had a pretty good weekend! yay!!!
this friday night, our fraternity had a party in which the pledge class (divided into 5 groups) had to throw on a little skit and some kinda performance and show our creativity and worthiness to be in kappa psi. whatever. my group procrastinated and met until like 10pm on thursday night after our pledge olympics in the afternoon to figure out what we were doing! so annoying! then on friday just before the party, we had another final run through. so we did a little dance to the stupid sean paul song. saturday morning we had to do a "highway cleanup" which involved picking up trash by wood and roosevelt. it was this area of 2, 3 blocks that were deserted and pseudo ghetto. just lots of trash, beer bottles, bags, and leather jackets grown and integrated into the grass, becoming part of nature! man, i felt that working at starbucks is as much cleaning as i would do (i dont even freakin' clean my own apt!), so this picking up nasty, post-rain trash was just too much fun for us. anywho, i just felt like i've been spending WAY too much time at school doing school stuff and frat stuff and stupid stuff. UGH! i enjoy them all, but when everything comes in large volume i grow sick of them quickly.
on sat night, cynthia and i went to sopo. this lounge/bar on souport and roscoe. FUN! basia you will love it because its own/operated by the same people as matisse and bar celona. their chocolate martinis were sooooo good! thier food is just "finer" bar food-- good, but not terribly exciting. much like matisse and barcelona. yummy though! there was some private party later on, so the hostess came and told us that if we were willing to move up to the front of the bar, her manager will buy us another round of drinks. woohoo! free drinks! on tues night they have $2 chocotinis! wed night half off appetizers!
yesterday i had to work all day. OH MY GOD! yesterday was BUSIER than usual. our sundays are usually pretty bad already; i think yesterday ever since 9am our line was constantly out the door til when i left around 3pm. crazy customers who dont know what they ordered, picking up the wrong drinks, changing minds. then i came home, set up my pseudo entertainment system. woohoo! then i went over to my friends cliffara and sara's apt for tacos and cubs game. how fun! it was just sooo nice that after sat morning i did NOTHING school, frat, or homework-related. so nice to get away from it, even just briefly. ;)
but-- tonight i will be studying all night for my med chem exam tomorrow! bleh! come visit me at starbucks!
