funs and toys!

what a fun weekend i had- for not even having to do much!!!

friday night i hung out with my friend matthew from college. i hadnt seen matthew for the longest time- he was in switz over the summer doing some internship. after he came back, i had been so busy i never got to see him! anywho, we had dinner at SOUK, a pseudo upscale middle eastern restaurant with an "egyptian emphasis." the food was kind of expensive (well, i have never had to pay over $13 for a nice middle eastern dish) but it was extremely yummy. i had th quail. the design of the place was interesting too- very red and eclectic. then we went to star bar and had some drinks and then we went to oberweis by my apt to have ice cream. yummy! i had their "seasonal special" pumpkin ice cream. it was good too but not excellent. yay!!!

then saturday- despite the stupid day at work- i had so much yummy food at bob's it was fun too. the spinach pie i made actually turned out very nice- surprisingly- as i only just made it for the time with some random improvisational ingredients added. :) hmm, another possible dinner for the future! i can make a pie on sunday night and eat it for the following week! :p

then today- sunday- is so fun! hee hee. again i had to work most of the day. it was very busy- but not bad busy. just very busy. ;) i was just very excited the entire day because polish basia, her friend, and i were going to the bed bath&beyond friends and family party! barb's friend beth works for BBB and her friends/family shoppers get 30% off during this shop-a-thon. yay!!!

i had to quickly pick up my paycheck at starbucks and deposit it today too cuz i knew i *might* spend a lot of money. hee hee, and i did! terrible! basia and laurie came to pick me up and then we headed downtown to the BBB river north. yay!!!! these people are BAAAD influence cuz they keep forgetting that neither am i married nor do i have a pretty houseful of fun spaces to fill. we first had dinn at rock bottom. aw, such good food! our food tonight was at least 1000X better than our stupid ass banquet food we had for the kappa psi initiation. (i still cant believe they made us each pay that nasty $40 for that stupid initiation dinner! limited open bar with terrible liquors and overcooked bland meat.) then we started the shopping spree. we reminded me of those shopping sprees you see on tv where women push shopping carts like crazies running around the store! my gosh, it was so much fun- i think we went through the *entire* store. heh heh.

i bought:
-pepper mill
-kitchen utensil holder
-gas/candle lighter thing
-duvet
-duvet cover
-blender/food processor duet
-appetizer plates
-small rug

it was terrible how much $$ i spent and none of these are for anyone's christmas presents!! ahhhhhh!!! basia and laurie kept telling me that these are all important things i should have. i hope they are right. it is true- these are really things that i *always* look at every time i walk into BBB or linens n things. what a conflicting thought- i felt like a kid that i will have all these toys to play with and new furniture to assemble (from ikea last weekend), yet i must be old to think it's fun to play with these household things!! basia reminded me of my beautiful crate&barrel dream from last year! to fill the rest of the people in- i dreamed that i had a fabulous kitchen with everything i love and anything i could possibly need on rows and rows of shelves- just like the fabulous C&B downtown! it was a beautiful dream!

then after our shopping we went to my starbucks to get ciders! parking right across the street! we even saw dr phil! and phil talking to vicki-- grr grrrr GGGRRRRRRR!!! i was at first telling basia and laurie about my friend tabitha's new job at C&B but we ran into her at starbucks and she told us that she quit!!!!! WAH??? ugh, it made me so sad.

whatever. its alright. what a fun weekend! all these toys that i can play with after tuesday!! :) now i have to pretend to study and make a dumb party flyer for kappa psi.
