i guess it is time to update my blog. it is so sad that when i have more time, i really do just sit there and do NOTHING! no, it does not mean that i am actively relaxing, i just do nothing! i hate it. get nothing done and get no relaxation. only thing i get is flabbily fat arms... and legs... and all of me... and dull skin. boooooooo. :(

i had a pretty good weekend. i am just so glad that the finals are over and unfortunately my grades published so far are not very good. luckily, i am not on probation yet! sigh.... better be more productive next semester.

saturday had to work most of the day. it was, again, another crazy saturday at starbucks. occasional weird characters coming in having strange requests. whatever. so sad though-- later in the afternoon, this woman came in with two little girls. got their coffee and hot cocos and whatnot. not even 10min later, one of the little girl started CRYING!!! omg, i dont even like children and crying children just made it worse. somehow the hot coffee got spilled-- all over the girl's front chest. her mom had to get the shirt off and was wiping her with cold, wet clean towels. we just got aloe and things that we would use when we burn ourselves. i think she was fine- it was nothing major. i remember that the woman was getting pseudo annoyed telling the girl to stop crying. for some reason the other girl (her sister, probably) just started crying with her too. UGH!! i felt like a bad person-- even though i felt terrible that the girl was pseudo hurt, i was soooo annoyed that her carelessness (children!) got in the way and she was just too loud. its like- it was an inconvenience. how will i ever be a good parent, if ever!!?? so selfish!

in the evening, my friend john was having a movie premier party. he and bunch of friends got together and made an indie film 2 yrs ago-- a place in france (polishbasia, petey, andy too??, were in the movie as party animals). it was john, mat, luke, and sarosh's debut film and was very good and clever for a debut film. the general plot is:

>>An astonishing array of talents, yes? Well, the city of Chicago doesn't think so. That's why these three friends pick up and move to Paris, where underrated American artists have long found adoring audiences (Jerry Lewis, anyone?). But once there, this plucky trio learns that the effortless rise to fame and fortune is not as easy as it looks. Aiming for acceptance in France's esteemed music and literary worlds, our hapless heroes fall far short, but they never earn less than an A-plus for effort. Throw in a charming waitress from Norway, a gorgeous expatriate from Baltimore, and a cockamamie search for Jerry Lewis' agent, and you've got a goofball adventure that can only exist in "A Place in France..."

it was my second time seeing it-- first time watching the final product-- it was funny! see it if it ever comes around.

then afterwards went to calantha's brother's birthday party at minx lounge. heh heh... indeed, it was one of those "asian parties" that many trendy clubs or lounges in chicago host. my friends and i generally avoid these asian parties (read: skinny ho bitches and spikey hair most-of-the-time-straighA-but-mafia-wanna-look-alike (short) dudes). its a whole other american asian urban culture. its always funny when my brother and i badmouth these "aZnS" but we are afraid that we might be labeled as such. whatever, at least we dont only hang out with tHeSE AzN pEoPLe.

anywho, back to the club. good times though cuz calantha brought her other friends that i knew and jay! omg, small world!! i ran into this guy vi whom my friend cynthia went out with a few times in summer 2002. at first i saw this guy coming in, i was like, dude, he looks like vi but is that really vi? why the hell is he here? indeed, it was him!!!! it was nice to see him though- hes always been nice and... "charming," if you will. it turns out that hes friends with calantha's brother. and hes married now- months ago in august!!!! unbelievable!!!! another reason why i was so shocked to see him was because earlier that night i got a call from this stupid dude whom i met through vi! he and i went out a few times (bleh!) last summer too then i think i conveniently forgot to return his calls/emails, then i saw him once more in december. it was just a very weird night cuz i had not seen these characters in a little over a year, and they both resurfaced again that evening. acc. to vi though, the two of them are not friends anymore cuz there were some conflicts and vi said that he realized this dude is not as genuine as he thought. ha! whatever, its funnie!

sunday was a pseudo frou frou evening with the noverinis and their friend lisa. they had invited me to attend this modern music concert conducted by pierre boulez. this was non-classical, 20th century music. petey is quite an expert, but i've only had a brief intro music class with it in college so i still dont understand it very well. the quality of the music and skills of the musicians were definitely superb, but i was ashamed to declare that i "dont get it." good time still.

before hand, we had a haute cuisine experience at Wave- in the W hotel lake shore drive. their selections were mediterranean flavored with a seafood focus. i had the cod, basia the sturgeon, petey and lisa the surf and turf. very very good. their dessert menu looked devilicous too but we were short on time to get to the concert. worry not, after the musicational experience, we went to sugar-a dessert bar for some more frou frou decadence. it was my second time to sugar and everyone else's first but i was still very excited. their desserts are so yummy and it's an entertainment just to read their menu. the place was much more toned-down on sunday night. previously i went on a friday night, and the hostess and waitresses were dressed in bright pink/orange polyester dresses that were barely covering their ass-ets. plus high shiny leathery boots. the waiters too were quite showy. sugar was good but now that i've been there twice, i dont think i need to go back again. moving onwards to other culinary challenges. hee hee.

hmmm, what to do today. i need to do some holiday shopping. so lazy.
