arctic chill...
oh my good god, it is SO COLD today, i think i can see my breath in my own dirty little apartment!!! 10 F and feels like -20 F???
so when the weather is extraordinary, we get to observe the funness of science. everyone loves science. here are my fun observations of the day:
- (P1)(V1)(T2) = (P2)(V2)(T1) yes, so since P is mostly constant around 760 mmHg around chicago, we shall ignore P. when i came out of the gym today, i had a water bottle in hand, with still a tiny bit of water left in it. rest of the bottle was filled with air. when i walked outside to the extreme cold, got in my car, and felt the bottle in my hand becoming flimsy and the sides sunk in. behold, i have observed the proportional relationship between temperature and volume!!
- then, i decided to go to marshalls and BBW on fullerton and wood to find some cheapies. of course i found nothing. anywho, as i returned to my car (less than 30 min), i saw tiny ice chunks in my water bottle. it is so ass freakin' cold that water in my water bottle froze.
BBBRRRRRR... will it warm up soon?

tonight i watched quills on the IFC on cable. what a weird movie! it is sorta the story of marquis de sade, starring kate winslet and geoffrey rush. marquis had been confined to the insane asylum and the movie tells the intertwining story of the marquis, marquis's "voluptuous," sexual stories of physical conjugation in which he allows self to live vicariously through the imagination, the chamber maid, other crazies, and the torturous doctor in charge. the movie was has quite a share of nudity, profanity, violence, and sexual content. overall, it was just very weird, and i am not sure what the lesson of the story is? it seems to me that the movie story strips life down to bare sexual desires. certainly there are many ways to live one's life, but it seems to me that living it all through sexual expressions, as the movie strongly portrays, is not the only way...
