wahhhh!!!

oh my gosh, what nightmare!!!! so last night i had such nightmare i think i am still trembling (or are my fingers just too cold?)

in my dream my family (my parents, brother, an aunt, and late grandmother) and i all went to dinner at charlie trotter's for dinner. normally, to most people, this should sound like a dream come true. well, if you know my parents and older family relatives, they dont really eat anything other than asian preferably chinese food. know that the chinese being a culture specialized in eating and cooking, there are still very different kinds of chinese dishes of the different provicial origins, including snacks, snacks fit for meals, regular dishes, soups, delicate imperial cuisines... etc etc, in addition to the american chicken fried rice and... hmmm... general tso's chicken. yes, anywho, regardless of type of chinese cuisine, my family excluding my brother and me would always choose to eat chinese food.

well, this dinner was almost torturous. since my previous experience at charlie trotter's was so fabulously edutaining, i could not help but measure my dream up to it! well, first of all, no one was speaking to one another at the table because no one liked what they were eating! ahhh!! for our second course, we were served a pot pie of some sort. hmm, you dont go to CT's for pot pies (maybe at christinie tingaroo's, but not charlie trotter's). also, we were not presented with a wine list (granted that my dad doesnt drink much, mom cant drink, and bro doesnt appreciate good wines so i'd be the only one downing a bottle, but still!!)! hello!?? then when the dishes were brought out, there was not a food guide explaining to us what was presented on the plate! then next thing i knew, my grandma and aunt were gone. later i realized that grandma became very sick and was taken home by my aunt so we had to take their shares of the food to go. since i was really craving wine, somehow i ordered a bottle of white wine (huh? i never voluntarily drink whites) and it was much too sweet for my taste. i did not receive a wine glass; instead, i was drinking the wine from a tall tumbler. what???? then whatever, something else happened, our dinner had to be cut short so we did not get to experience the wonderful desserts!

i was so mortified when we left: my parents were complaining about how non-asian and unsatisfactory the food was. i kept explaining to them that it was not supposed to be how we experienced. i kept telling them how wonderful the food, drinks, and atmosphere should be, based on my previous time, but still!!!! i think i jerkily woke up, realizing that it was only a dream, but still!! ahhhhhh!!!!
