weekend recap...
yes, time to update the blog again. hee hee, as many of us experienced first handedly with or without much romance, it was valentine's day weekend. in other words, more excuse to drink and partay. woohoo! overall, it was a pretty good weekend. here are some recap of random moments;
--friday evening there was a sighting of lawyer ed at starbucks. hmmm, yes, havent seen this guy for a while. i was like, OH look who it is! he claimed that he has some assignment due monday and thats why he has all this work to do. i was like, hmmm, thats monday, this is friday night. i charged him for his drinks. thats what you get for ignoring my emails. boo! after work, went over to calammy's for some free dinn. dont yall just love that i like to invite myself over for dinner!? we ate "old, chewy, stringy" chicken breasts stuffed with spinach and ricotta, and stuffing. i thought the chicken was quite good, but i was told that they were supposed to be "old, chewy, stringy" and almost unedible. hmmm, who knew!?
--afterwards we made fun cheese cake for clam's aphrodisiacs gone wild party sat night. so much fun! i got to use a fun kitchen aid mixer for the first time. double fun!!! after nearly passed out from over exhaustion from the stressful week, i headed home.
--saturday day was a NIGHTMARE times 500 at starbucks. it was as bad as summer time!!!! waaahhh!! so when i first started at my store around summer time, all saturdays and sundays were really really REALLY busy- with the beach goers, runners, shoppers, diners, theater goers... etc etc. for the past months, it had been only super busy on sundays and saturdays were just controllably busy. OH MY GOODNESS, this past saturday was *OUT OF CONTROL*!!!! as soon as i got to the store, the line was out the door and the line never never never ended!!! one would think that it being valentine's day, people would be spending a nice morning at home with their sweet hearts or doing fun activities somewhere. still, starbucks was short no one- everyone normal and weird. then by 4, 4:30, i was just like, shouldnt people be on their dates already? why are they still here!???? GO HOME!!!
--after giving jamie shit again (and him unfortunately taking everything too seriously in that messed up head of his) about me needing to leave early, i got to leave early. i picked up some ingredients from treausre island and went to calammy's for the singles only aphrodiasiacs gone wild valentine's day party. i got there early so that i could make this asiago cheese dip from a recipe stolen from polishbasia. her other friends and our friends from school (jen, merly) slowly joined us. there was again so much yummy food. after much engulfing, her friend sharon began (or continued?) her quest for boys on attraction.match.com's picture picking exercises. eh! too much excitement for me after 5 min. :p
--afterwards, we went to transit (nightclub). there line was fairly long when we got there. but we told some guy that we were on the list (we were, really!) and he just took us to the door and we only waited for 5min. that was kind of weird, passing all the others waiting. the thing is-- i wonder if we could've done the same thing if we didnt RSVP... since they didnt even ask for our names or anything like that! how would they have known!? anywho, the free drinks were only btwn 10-11pm and we only had half hr to take advantage of it. unfortunately, these free drinks always only include the cheapest of the cheap, poor selections. eh! thats alright. after a while, more people started pouring in. we had an ok time, but wasnt too terribly exciting.
--then we went back downtown to fado (an irish pub) on grand to meet sharon's friends. the place was pretty packed too. the crowd didnt bother me, but the bar tender that i tried to order drinks from was TERRIBLE. oh my god, if you have bad memories or are extremely stupid, you should just stay away any jobs that require such skills. lets try this: 2 appletinis, 1 miller lite, 1 manhattan, 1 vanilla and coke. (some shouting match back and forth as my voice doesnt project well in loud conditions). him yelling back: so i've got 2 appletinis, 1 miller lite, 1 manhattan, 1 vanilla and coke. me: YEAH! him: ok, i will be right with you.
(minutes later) stupid him: so what was that again: 2 appletinis, amstel, and what else?
me: (irritated) WHAT!?? ok, try again, i need 2 appletinis, ONE miller lite, ONE MANHATTAN, ONE absolut vanilla and coke. OK? YOU GOT THAT?
him: (repeated everything back to me)...
(minutes more later) stupid him: (bringing the appletinis) so theres amstel lite and miller lite?
me: OK, ITS 2 APPLETINIS, 1 MILLER LITE, 1 MANHATTAN, 1 ABSOLUT VANILLA AND COKE.
after too much longer later, he brought the other drinks. and ok, i asked for absolut vanilla, NOT stoli vanil, ok!??? at that point, i was already so annoyed i was just like whatever. see, its one thing if hes slow and was really nice about it. he was slow, stupid, and not very nice. dumbass. it's not like he was making 10000 drinks at the same of as my 5. he should try working with tirple grande nonfat caramel on both sides upside down extra foamy caramel macciato, tall coffee in a grande cup, iced 5 shot venti no water americano, tall toffee nut hazelnut extra whip latte, grande soy no foam no whip hot coco, 3 venti dry cappucino... all said to you in less than 15 seconds and products expected done in < 5min for a change. stupid.
--jen being the blond and the cute one, every guy was hitting on her. weird older guy trying to show off a free stella artois shirt he won from the singles event earlier in the night, some cop guy... blah blah. some other guys were trying to talk to me too, but all unfortunately not very exciting, exhilarating, or rich at all. sharon was quite the photo journalist. ahahahaha. i think she had fun taking photos. you can read more details at clam's xanga here. i shall omit to repeat them.
--after fado closed, we walked back to calammy's and pigged out on some leftover food. then i accidentally suggested that we could go to my starbucks for some free drinks. WOW, the idea was greeted with much welcome! so off we went. clara and emily were on the floor when we got there. hee hee, they are both fun people, they're like, what, christine, why the hell are you bringing your friends here for!? whatever, we managed to order some diverse, mildely pain in the ass drinks. all for the little price of nothing. woohoo! ran into anand there too, he was apparently just coming from putting his friend who drank way too much to bed. ha, i think he had a thing for either calammy or her friend tiffany. too bad i dont think hes good enough for either one of them.
--after some zzzz, went back to starbucks on sunday for another long ass day. this day was particularly painful cuz again it was pretty busy, and i could not get over the fact that i have a major ceutics exam on monday and i have not even begun to study. ahhh!!!! MAJOR PANIC ATTACKS!!! fortunately, there was a lovely sighting of dr phil. awww, why is he so cute! still, why does he always act so nice and say that he misses me and such AND then decides to ask me how vicki is doing? man whore! but oh how he needs to love me! anywho, after a torturous shift under supervision of kelly, we had laura stay later for me until 8:30pm and while i left at her scheduled time at 7:15pm. got a yummy sandwich and returned home for another torturous night of studying. wwaaaahhh.
OH MAN! this blog is way too long, i will wait until tomorrow to tell yall about the winter phase 2 promotion at starbucks: the BREW HA HA all brewing equipment super sales event. i shall blog about it tomorrow: stay tuned for your local starbucks promotions update and fierce competitions. and starbucks pipers alley (yes, thats mine) is closed for the night to undergo some remodeling. stop by starting tomorrow (tuesday) for a new look and one of firsts at starbucks around chicago.
