still coughing...
oy! after close to one week of viral sickness, i am still not completely well. cough cough! hack hack!!! :p
this past weekend was quite fun, though very slow and mellow at some parts. :)
friday was kellean and adam's wedding. yay!!! i dont have many pictures now cuz i was participating in various parts of the wedding and unable to take all the good pictures from good seats. i shall post more when i get more from ellie's camera.
at the ceremony, i had to walk down the aisle in the processional. how nervous! before they started, some people and i were discussing, oh my gosh-- i felt nervous!!! it was ridiculous as it was not even MY wedding!!! wahh!! i walked down with shaker, a friend from college that i havent seen since his graduation in 2000. luckily, i did not trip! shaker and i were reponsible in putting this cord, lasso, around kellean and adam's necks to symbolize their union, marriage. the adults were very serious about this cord being put on in ONE MOTION with NO HESITATION! shaker, who lives in ny, couldnt come to the rehearsal last weekend, of course- so i had to instruct him what to do. i was so nervous thinking that i would mess up or trip and ruin the whole thing! wahh!!
the reception was interesting too. the dinner was family style; the foods were okay. one weird thing was that the servers would bring up plates of various dishes, but they would come back and take the (still full) plates away so quickly that you barely had one helping! when i saw them coming back, i was telling everyone at the table, dude, take more food or you'd starve! seriously, i think most of us still felt hungry after the dinner. :p
the DJ must had some unforgettable times in the 80s or something. it was a disco/80s nostalgic dance night! he practically played the entire grease soundtrack, we did the hustle.. etc etc. after a while, 100 songs later, all the songs were the same and too old school. bleh! nevertheless, it was a fun time. got to see other u of c friends that i lost touch with and havent seen since graduation.

sunday after i went to polishbasia's tastefully simple taste party! yes, this is pretty much like any tupperware, candle party, like pampered chef. for this, a consultant (this time, vicky, one of barb's best friends) comes to the host's house and in front of her friends, demonstrates the very delicious, pseudo gourmet dishes that you can prepare from some of their spices, sauces, and mixes. for example, we tasted loads of different dips that can be simply made from their bottles of spices by adding mayonnais and sour cream! we tasted many things; many of which were a bit on the salty side, still good. i bought a few things so perhaps next time i have another gathering i shall use them. vicky tried to convince me to host a party as well; it sounds like it could be fun but my apt is so small and i dont know if any of my friends would actually be interested in coming to these domestic old women kitchen things like i like. hmm... it was fun still.

today's work was quite boring. it was a long shift and felt *really* long and slow too! ugh! silly al was telling me about how hes reading this book called the wine bible. all stemmed from our boredom from too much coffee tasting. and i decided that i'd much rather be tasting wines than coffee. LOVE WINES!!! he's like, as would i! i feel that except for me and few others younger people generally dont have much a taste for wines. and hes like 12! blah blah, then he reminded me that he used to live in france and thats how his love affair with wines began? awww, sooo cute! too bad my love affair with wines started with an ex's vineyard. polishbasia, find me another wine party to host!!! lets go to bin36 again!
