happy independence day
happy independence day, yall!!! happy national holiday!! yay!
my weekend has been pretty good. friday evening after work i went to the taste with allen roo in grant park. dude, for some reason i thought that the taste of chicago would go on for another week. i then was also thinking, hey, i am off on tuesday- i could go during mid-day when it is not crowded- it'd be perfect! then, i realized, wait, it ends this weekend and there aint no way i am going on july 3 on fireworks day since i had already fought the crowds twice in the past on july 3. never again! that morning i made allen roo go with me at night. ha!
of course, there were a lot of people when we got there around 6:30pm, but really, *not nearly* as crowded and terrible as i predicted. the weather was nice too, not hot or humid; in fact, a bit chilly!
i had a rack of baby back ribs (TASTY!!!) from robinson's, like i do EVERY YEAR! funnel cake. some very expensive chicken wings- but they are perhaps worth it as they are hot with a charcoal taste, unlike ordinary wings! allen roo fell in love with this pink boy with california surfer dude blond wavy hair at the fireplace inn. we had to buy cheese sticks TWICE so allen roo can enjoy him! hmmm... ha! and what else, fresh grapes. allen roo's friend got some alligator wings. alligator wings?? alligators dont have wings!!! what!???
afterwards, i finally got to see shrek2! hahahah. its very cheesey but quite funny! there are a lot of details, especially in the pseudo beverly hill scene when shrek and fiona arrived at far far away! i loved it how the residents of far far away were hanging out at farbucks, and then when mongo attacked that farbucks, they ran across the street into--- ANOTHER FARBUCKS!!!!! oh hahaha, i almost passed out from laughter!
saturday, however, was only so so. i didnt enjoy the stormy rains during this supposed-to-be sunny ID weekend. work was extremely boring as it was slow. we were way overstaffed and i really could find nothing to do after doing everything. so i asked james to send me home early. i went and did some pseudo shopping around north and sheffield stores. bought some fun stuff at CB and were only disappointed at the clothing stores.. :(
today, sunday, i invited myself over to clams' house in DG for their bbq. mmmm... free food. dude, apparentlty my alcoholic reputation precedes me... like how clams' i-like-to-be-scandalous reputation precedes her. hmmmm... all the "adults" were exchanging their drunk stories in their... not 100% sober states, while complementing on my drinking abilities. "wow, she can drink!" hmmm....
tomorrow, gotta work again, WITHOUT the holiday pay! boo!!!! then after work i gotta go to soldier field for a training session. my fraternity is doing a fundraiser at a fires game and we are gonna man some concession stands. since i didnt volunteer at the bears game last year, i still need to be trained with the procedures and such. bah! i really dont feel like going to the training session... whats wrong with me!
