random collection of notes...
hello, all. seeing that my recent life event have lacked luster and extreme excitement, i shall note the random silly events instead. wait, thats what i already and always do... :(
1. jamie is no longer with starbucks?? so this is a hush hush (why!). starbucks jamie (not bachelorette jamie or girl jamie) is no longer with starbucks-- he transferred to another store in the gold coast earlier this summer to continue his "RMT" training in path to become an assistant manager. he was really looking forward to a change from piper's. well, rumor has it that there was some yelling, shouting, and crying at his store between him and another individual of managerial status two weeks ago. AHHH!
the person left on vacation, and on thursday jamie was supposed to come in and help us at pipers (as we are severely short staffed) and i was told that "he was sick." well, the aforementioned person has been fired by our district manager while she took her "vacation" to recover, and jamie didnt come in that particular thursday because he knew he would be fired on the spot by our DM.
DRAMAS! POLITICS! HA!
2. can i clone you, christine? if someone asks if they could clone you because you are so fabulous, is that supposed to be a complement?
3. dont buy food when you are drunk. on saturday i met up with cookie bob, duff, lisa, and franko (and the noverinis and andy and gina later showed up too) for some guinness and filling irish food at chief's. mmmmm.... guinness. mmmm... meaty, potatolicious food. i finally dropped off the 80 dollars worth of food items that franko ordered at my tastefully simple party. i was told that he never purchases this much stuff at once. dont go shopping when you are drunk!
4. antz ants ANTSSSS!! last week on one of the really hot days, i found ants in my kitchen by the window!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!! funny thing was, i had run into my upstairs neighbor as i was coming home. we pseudo small talked a bit; i learned that she and her roommate were actually moving out this past weekend or something. i just pseudo asked, oh, so did you guys like the place, do you have any bugs.. etc. shes like, OH! we have very bad ant problems! well, i have seen a random ant or two sometimes in my bathroom but i never think much of it...
UNTIL i parted her and came inside. GAH! i went straight to the kichen and behold, there were ants. lots of ants. no, its not *that* bad since they are fairly localized. they were coming in from the middle part of my window, crawling along the trim, and i found some more in my left most cabinet. gross gross! i haven't seen or had to deal with ants since the last time i lived in TX for more than 1 month at a time (which was... in high school??)! dude, i ran out to the store and got RAID and ant baits. i removed some items from my cabinets, made sure that things were sealed, and SPRAYED!!
i suppose it is not a false advertisement for RAID to say that things die on contact. unfortunately the so-called residual killing power didnt work at all. hours later when i came back to check, ants were still crawling where i had sprayed. i called my management co and left (acc. to clamsie) a very ASSertive message for them to take care of business. ha! in fact, i made two calls. they were pretty good about it and came and sprayed for ants the next day. unfortunately, when i came home that evening, i still saw "some" ants. UGH!
i had to spray some more, but there is no reason that *I* should be the one dealling with pests if i am paying shitload of $$ per month! they came again yesterday and supposedly sprayed some more; i havent seen any more ants and i wish not to. no more!
this is why i was never a fan of nature (except for water, i love water) because with plants and those fabulous healthy greenies people in fabulous houses love, ants and bugs are inevitable. it is the circle of life, but i, as an urbanite, dont like them!
5. move out date! so the lease to my old apartment ends today! for those of you confused, i have had two apts for the past month because i was painting the new place and slowly transporting my things over. on sunday after work, i had to go to the bosworth apt and clean up everything. so gross. however did i have so much crap! i need to go back there today and bring my old desk top here until i figure out what to do with them. does anyone wanna buy a pentium 1 (1997) computer? a fabulous LCD screen? an arthritis friendly keyboard? i then will need to turn in the keys to my management co. sniff, everyone takes time to say good buy to the keys. ok, i better go soon!
