shopping!

ugh! this weekend was in many ways; it was also bad in many other ways.

the goods and bads:

111. yay! bucktown 5K was today. this is like the first sunday that i have completely off (from work) in like months. other sundays that i may have been able to stay away from starbucks was because i probably had some other non-social, non-fun related tasks to attend to. anywho, they wanted the runners to be at the race site around 7:30am. OMG, this is so early! i had such a hard time waking up, and i didnt even stay out late last night! i worked, then went to walgreens to meet with stevos, calammy's new best work-a-holic pharmacy manager friend. yes, workaholic, as stevos even takes pride, "i have no life; i work all the time." also, "i have a reputation as the work machine; people from other districts will call me to work." HUh!? then had dinn with allen. nothing crazy. just a relaxing evening. WHY WAS I SO TIRED!?

i woke up, but all the way til the start of the race, i was sooo sleepy and felt very sluggish. ugh! the temperature went up really quickly in the morning. around 7:30 it was chilly, but by 8:30 it was HOT! nice day though. however, not a good day of running for me. i might have started going too fast initially, or i might still not be at good running shape cuz i only ran twice this week and before that it was wks wks ago! i think the signage through the running course was poorly set up. after some time in the race, i thought i was gonna die-- i know running is not easy work, but i was not running very smoothly-- i never found my groove!

after some time, i was like, @$%^*%$, i dont know where i am, i dont know how much i have run, i dont know how long it's been, i dont know how much there still is... AHHHH!!!! i was getting tired, and i felt lost and directionless! bah! then into mile2, some volunteer supporters/cheerleaders were like, "homestretch, homestretch!!" homestretch, to me, is like 2 blocks in a 5K run. i ran and i ran, and realized we were barely finishing mile2 or barely into mile3! WTF!?? this aint homestretch, this is hell stretch! sigh.. i finished okay, but it was not a "feel-good" run.

on the fun side of things, sharon and i got cute colorful water bottles. whoohoo! more cluter! then at the after-race festivities, they were giving out prizes for the top finishers. i recognized this chick's name-- erin temple-- she is a like P3 or P4!! she finished third in her age group (20-24). @#$%&*^%#$. WTF!? she's in like multiple student organizations, and rho chi, the honor fraternity. what, smart and cute... and athletic too now?? WHAT! so unfair.

222. too much money spent. i might have mentioned to some of you that i saw this very cute cords blazer that starbucks maggie was wearing one time from H&M. i've been looking for it for a while, but was never the right color or size. this friday after school, i decided to stop by the H&M on state street to look. i didnt find the exact one that im looking for, but i bought another cords blazer.... it's cute too and i think i might have tried that same one on on michigan ave, but for some reason this fits better... i bought it, but i grumbled the entire time cuz it was *expensive* for H&M! GRRR!! and... sadly, velour is in again?? WTF? as allen pointed out, this stupid fabric was in not even 2 yrs ago in those stupid jump suits or sweater outfits. i hated them and never bought. this time velour is back is classic styles and cuts. i *still* dont like them. hmm..

it is also the good will sale at carson's. GO! GO NOW! the 15% off coupon you receive you can use on everything. i bought some cosmetics products that i "need." no, i do, i am almost out of loose powder and my foundation brush is old and gross. yay! today i bought a nice black handbag for more professional occasions. then i was trying to decide whether to buy another coach hand bag or just a fun the-sak hand bag. they are both from the new fall line of the respective company.

the sak $49; the coach $188. the images are not shown to scale. the sak is much bigger than coach. well, obviously the coach cost about 3 times more than the sak. i first saw the new coach demi on saturday i was like, OMG, i love it. should i get it? it's so cute! its not very big, like most of the small coach handbags, which is fine. the sak is bigger, but very cute too, and it's a microsuede material

i temporarily bought the sak, but i may go back to get it. oh, so cute. when i walked by the coach flagship store on mich yesterday, i nearly passed out. they have such classically gorgeous handbags this season. love! since carson's has very limited selection on coach bags, i found these on the website that i also adore: signature satchel ; the new signature satchel ; soho mini signature tote . yeah, i think i am still into the totes. they are so cute. i have to go back to the carson's downtown to see.

another dilemma- or should i just spend $$ on a good kitchen aid mixer? gah!

333. i am too good at procrastination. after much time wasting at carson's in the burbies today, and deciding what gifts to buy for what person, i came home, passed out from dehydration and a massive headache. ugh! then i just realized how many quizzes i have coming up this week and exams the week after! i am so behind in my studying. time to stress out again! STUDY! atropine!

enough of poking fun of self, i really *really* need to get my life and my apt in order. i need to do well in school from now on and truly have my home be a nice place to live. i need to get off my ass. bah!

444. oh! just before i go, i ran into lawyer ed this morning at the 5K. yup, he's still as ugly and as poorly dressed as i remembered. sigh... where is my doctor phil!? for the new readers, lawyer ed is this dude that goes to kent law that used to visit my starbucks with his indian sidekick almost nightly to study. bleh! i think he and his sidekick were there to cheer on edo's gf or other friends or something. it was just funny cuz i hadnt seen them in a very long time. sharon and i were stretching and we saw each other. weirdness. why couldn't i run into someone hot instead?

ok, studying awaits me.
