greetings, my friends

greetings to all's happy post-thanksgiving belly. ho ho ho. mine is huge, yours?

i hope everyone had a good thanksgiving with the fam, significant other, in-laws, almost in-laws, and friends.

mine wasn't so spectacular but it was good, as mom and bro came to visit. mom only stayed for one day, as she had to get back to work, and bro stayed for the entire wknd. it was hard with him as he's been to chicago millions of times and has done everything touristy. he doesnt really enjoy bars, and i no longer enjoy clubbing as i continue to age... hmmm.

the wednesday prior i was running around like a mad dog. remember the snow/rain we had? yeah, try to drive in a hurry in that traffic. i had to pick some last minute things for thursday. then had to go to home depot for a snow brush for my rental car as my old one was almost broken and in my maxima. then had to go to momentum to pick up the turkey race packet for me and my pseudo friend. i bought a pr of thermo running pants with my coupon. they really aren't that attractive but boy, they do amazing wonders. when you sweat, it actually changes the temperature and keeps the warmth in to protect your peripheral temp during your exercise. then i came home and started cleaning. wah!

the run on thursday morning was a bitch. i was just bitchin' and moanin' the whole way there and whole way during the race. eh, at least i warned rich and lons that i was gonna complain the whole time. as i told stoooopid, i choked. how sad. the last time i urban cross country-ed on ice was like 4 yrs ago back in the crew days. out of practice! :(

then i hurried home, started cooking. went to get bro and mom. went to chinatown to pick mom's special order of butterfly cookie thingies for her friends and co-workers. then rushed home, threw the turkey hoot in the oven and made more dishes. the dinner turned to be quite good. the 8lb turkey breast still took longer to bake than i anticipated, but it turned out very nicely. it was almost the right amt of food for the 3 of us, with some leftovers for me to munch for tne next few days, but i do miss nawing on the leg and wings.

then friday bro and i went shopping in the morning as early birds. NNOTHING. nawthing at all. the dealies at best buy were only good if you didnt already have the stuff, but if you were looking for an upgrade on your tv, dvd player, or others, they only had random brands to choose from. then we went to old orchard; there were "some" sales at the stores, but i wouldn't qualify anything to be special special sales. boring! i also didnt find much that i liked except for arden b. nothing is ever on sale there, so i didnt have to buy anything at the time.

rest of wknd was just followed by more food and sleeping. we saw national treasure-- if you are looking for a fun movie, i'd strongly recommend it! woo! it's almost like the mummy. then we saw the grudge--- stupid. no plot, not scary at all. what made it "scary" was because they had things randomly jumping out to "startle" you. boo.

now, back to the daily grind. semester is almost over, and more Fs to add to my belt of pharmacy. wheeee. i suuppose i will go study some before i go to school.
