merry christmas eve!
its almost that time of the year again! ho, ho, ho, merry christmas (eve) to all! i hope that whilst in the midst of bustling crowds, shopaholics, and blinding store displays, we will take time to remember the birth of JC, and it is because of him we are alive today. also cherish the family and friends that we have that support and encourage us through "most" of what we do. :)
okay, back to your regularly scheduled random thoughts...
today, i skipped my run and pseudo workout. i had to finish finding proper bedding for the parental units. i tried tjmaxx and marshalls to scope out good deals, but nothign! i went back to the stupid mid-end outlet mall, katy mills, AGAIN for the second time this week, after looking all over the place for the most suitable and worthwhile linens and things for the parents. the overstock.com idea was shot when i realized how many days (5-10 bus days) it'd take them to ship, or i have to pay over 200 for shipping! sigh... why can't i just buy nice things for myself. katy mills was especially crazy today: since all its stores are not high end, every jr high, high school kids and their dates like to go there. lots of children and mothers too... and their strollers!!!! after i purchase my items from BBB, i was having to weave through seas of people and strollers (since i was in a hurry) with my heavy bags. i swear people, MOVE IT!!! >:o
then this afternoon was spent at the frou frou houston galleria with carol and her mom. they are fun shoppers. i have always enjoyed shopping with carol, ever since high school. im not sure if the feeling is mutual, but eh, oh well, i know she likes me. :) it is hard, sometimes, to find a good friend so fashion-forward and adventurous with their wardrobe and makeup. with her i am never afraid to go to *good* stores and buy something i love (and not for the sake of buying something cuz it's "named"!), instead of crap just for the sake of having something to wear/use. luxurious and economical items that last forever!
in high school this mall was 1/2 of its current size! i now love how they have all the good and designer stores at the main level just above the skating rink-- the entire walkway of them. the stupid teeny bopper stores with $5 one-wash wear stores are on the other side. yay! anywho, carol's mom wanted to "preview" some sales items at SAKS in preparation for the after-christmas sale on sunday. most sales item w additional 50% off from 8-11am! (yeah, you heard that, GO GO GO!!) the three of us each "pre-purchased" a fabulous pair of shoes, respectively. apparently they will ring the items up first thing on sunday morning when the extra sale goes into effect and i just have to go pick up! :) i may have to bring mom on sunday to see what she may like too...
there were some severly marked down manolo's at neiman's, but i didn fall in love with any of them right away, so i guess i will wait until i get back to chicago. too bad that there isn't a bloomies around here, as they usually have jaw-dropping good deals.
tomorrow evening i have to pick up the bro from the airport. mom and dad have to work so i think we have to manage our own dinner... so... WHAT'S FOR DINN!!?
