quarter century...
yesterday i turned 25.
i just want to thank everyone that put up with my daily tantrum and such to hang out with me and wish me happy 25 for the second time. yay!!! :)
in the morning i decided to go the gym to keep up with my pseudo holiday/winter tune-ups. when i was doing my cool-down stretch, where i was i could see the swimming pool. what i saw reminded me again why i dont swim there during the day, even though it's not crowded. there were two older men doing weird dances or some kind of aquatic exercises in the pool. i know aquatic exercises are probably good for their health conditions and joints in their old age, but man, they looked scary. the italian looking one just kept jumping up and down with arm movements every like 5 seconds. the asian one was like stretching his obliques by doing turns and back stretches. i dont know- they just looked scary.
anywho, then i met stace, tiffy, and screamalantha at toast for brunch. tasty. then we pseudo shopped a bit. i wanted to go to the semi-annual sale at victoria's secret-- when we got there, i was like, what the.. the clearance/sales selections were so poor and the discounts were stingy. i asked one of the SA, uh, is this part of the semi annual sale? then i learned the actual sale in the stores start next week, jan 3. dont forget to go next week, girls! hmm...
after bumming around some more, i headed over to salon1800 for my massage. a birthday gift i bought for self-- after my green shoes and plum handbag. woohoo. ugh, i cant even remember when the last time i had proper massage was. i was spoiled from college when my then-boyfriend would massage my always-tense back on demand and the cheapie ones in europe. i actually wasnt really "exposed" as i was under like hundrds of layers of blankets the whole time, and the massage therapist would uncover one area at a time to knead. it felt soooo good. ugh! as i have complained- last week in houston sleeping on my girl bed-- every morning i would wake up not because i was awake but because i was IN PAIN. when i was done, my back felt so light and relaxed. i never knew! :)
then i met allen at starbucks to receive my birthday oreo balls. mmm, oreo balls... then after some dramatic phone calls, complaints, and hungry talk, we went to pick up sharon to have some dinn and drinks at iggy's. cute place, the food was okay, but dude, the martinis are creative but super expensive. well, expensive for a low-key bar/lounge in wicker park! for that price we could've ordered other fun martinis at fancy hotels. oops. my best was still my $15 casablanca martini in DC with carol over the summer. oh, so good. anywho, it was fun. i really had fun. i hope they did too.
this morning i had brunch with kelleanie and ellie at kitsch'n on roscoe. i havent seen ellie since the summer too when i went to dc/b-more. yay! then kel had to go home cuz her fam was coming over. i took el to this fun yarn store that i always drive by on way to starbucks- the knitting workshop . we were amazed by the different types and fanciness of yarns. we feel like such old women. whatever, it's so fun. at least she wasn't sewing curtains at her parents' house over christmas break. :p
now, i must get ready to return to work! bah!!! how do i make a latte again?
