come and go...

as many of you may recall, last 2 weeks almost everyday i was worried about what to wear to kate's wedding. well, things and events truly do come and go in a blink of an eye. friday was the wedding and now it's over!

just to update for whoever that cares, i decided to wear the white linen skirt with the brown one-shoulder-strapped pseudo tube top, with my fabu green shoes. yay! i think i looked fine. as predicted, most younger women at the wedding wore black. i was also telling carol- that all the older women all kinda looked the same. they all have short curling iron curled hair, some kinda of light colored dress with big floral prints on them. blah.

the wedding was nice. i dont have any pix yet but will post them soon! some friends and i were just annoyed cuz apparently all of peoria was under construction. I-74 was closed so you must go around to get to downtown peoria. in the wedding invites we received *NO* directions or maps whatsoever about traveling to/from/within peoria btwn locations. of course, the fancy mapquest mapquest doesnt know who is under construction when and where!!! what a lack of etiquette!!

the ceremony was very simple. a lady minister married kate and dave. the reception was also very simple, but nice. they had hors d'oeuvres, which were very good with variety of cheese and smoked salmon. unfortunately, the dinner was okay but for some reason i was expecting more? hmm, i dont know. i had the chicken marsala and i think i was hungry ~2 hrs after the meal. boo. the red wine... well, domestic red wine... otherwise, everything was cute. everyone in the wedding party gave a brief speech. kate looked beautiful (so did all her bridesmaides, and ellie was especially HOT!!!), and dave looked like how he always looked. hee hee. kellean and i thought that he looks the same all the time. mother anderson mel also looked very beautiful and happy. timmy, kate's lil' bro, has grown so tall from our college days. awwww...

it was also nice to see cliffara, as i havent seen them in months, now that they are still almost-married. it was nice, yet at the same time VERY SAD, for me hear about the new condo clara's parents purchased for her in OP, and the new house kel and adam bought for themselves in bolingbrook. i am still poor and own nothing besides the $2 in my bank account. i also saw brad and charles from college. i never knew these guys too well, but they are good friends with kate and ellie. it's been like 3, 4 yrs so it was nice to pseudo catch up!

saturday after i got back from peoria-- i dont know if it's the heat, and weird red wine, i just felt very, *extremely* sluggish and woozy. ugh! i wanted to go to the gym but i could not even move myself!!! there were also people everywhere so it didnt make me wanting to go outside either!!

sunday i drove up to boofoo grayslake to swim with barbarini and some other ladies from our tri training group. we had started swimming in the open water for our training in their lake now that it's warm. as i probably mentioned, i totally sucked on monday. ugh! it's this mental block that i just need to conquer. i can swim and i just need to keep telling myself, either outloud like a crazy person or from within, that i CAN swim the 1/2 mile. i felt a lil' better after the sunday swim than monday, but there's still much more work to be done!!! :(

then afterwards i worked all night. it was crazy trying to serve the last remnants of crowds from the annual old town art fair, and clean up after another super busy morning. i think i felt like i was about to pass out as i was leaving work. SOOO TIRED!!!

just enjoying a lazy lunch and afternoon now, before heading back up to grayslake again! i've been feeling dehydrated and craving for watermelon lately, maybe i will pick one up on the way home tonight!
