the heat wave!!

wow, it has DEFINITELY been HOT and HUMID this week in chicago. we basically jumped from winter to summer in like 2 days, random spring yet not quite springy days in between for 2 months. i dont have a windoe a/c unit put in my apt yet-- well, partially cuz i dont know which window to put it in, and partially cuz the weather is not too impossible or unbearable yet. if i get used to a/c too early or too quickly, when july or august comes later, my electric bill will cost like 10 M dollars! too poor.

i guess i have finally decided, for the most part, on the outfit to wear to kate's wedding. thanks for all the girlies that helped me pick it, and bob for encouraging the wear of black for all occasions and pretending to bake me cookies.

today i have to actually go buy the brown top and take care of a few other errands as well. i need to get my nails done, since my hands are super dry from working too much at starbucks this week. i still need to buy the wedding gift for kate and dave, but i think i will just buy my "usual" wedding gift that i've giving to my coupled friends that got married.

i watched TROY last night (after work and my beautifully threaded eyebrows, with indian food). i didnt realize that it is a movie of such brutality and gruesome killing. it's almost like the gladiator. i guess it was a decent movie; pretty much just killing, studded with some romantic moments here and there. brad is definitely more attractive as a clean cut guy in beautifully tailored suits (so do all men), and it's funny cuz i can never accept orlando bloom's role as any authority figure. he just looks too young. i was so confused in the beginning trying to understand all the relationships btwn each of the nations in the medi area and btwn the people. luckily, it clicked quickly cuz the "wonderful" U of C education, i actually had to read several of Homer's books (not homer simpson). heck, maybe i will re-read the iliad.
