spa day on the prairie
oh my gosh. i cant believe i just updated my blog, and for some reason when i signed back in, my posting was lost before it was published!!!
grrr. anywho, as i was saying, yesterday, monday, was a day full of water activities. since it was my day off, i went swimming at bally's in the morning to pretend to brush up on my lack of swimming skills cuz i hadnt been for over a wk due to my womanly courses. gosh, i suck.
then i went to the north ave beach to get some cancerous tan so i could look better for the wedding this wknd... and cuz there's a crazy heat wave in chicago. sweat sweat. i brought a burrito to the beach to enjoy while reading; unfortunately, as i started i eating, i realized i'd be eating more sand than burrito if i kept on eating. it was really windy and the sand kept getting picked up and it's everywhere!! nevertheless, the warm breeze still made the tanning enjoyable, except for the crazy flying sand!! i think i burned my chest and back a bit, but when i looked again today, none of the color is even noticeable!!!
anywho, the evening was another training in boofooland. this time we had our first open water swim practice at the lake by these ladies' houses. after a few min in the water, i started having a major panic attack!! wah!! i could not breathe (above or under water), i could not move my arms, and i just could not make myself swim!!! i was so embarrassed!!!! i know i know how to swim and that i CAN swim, but i dont know why i just could not do it!!! it made me worry cuz we barely practiced 1/10 of the distance for the tri!!! ahhh!!
then after the practice, this woman from the group invited us to her house to enjoy some appetizers, drinks, and the hot tub!! soooo nice; and this woman's house is definitely wealthily furnished just based on what i saw on her deck. jealous! >:o this other woman from the group also sells cosmetic and beauty products for arbonne as a part-time side gig; she brought to the party some face mask and sea salt scrub for us to play with. man, with the hot tub, wine, it totally felt like a spa day on the prairie, very enjoyable!!!
unfortunately, with the natural, prairie, and organic style living in their community, i was under CRAZY mosquito attack. my skin has always been very sensitive to mosquito bites, as in the bumps completely swell up and turn red. my smallest bumps are the size of a quarter; the bigger ones are like the size of a fist!! yes, it was SO BAD that you could tell the shape of my outfit based on the pattern of my mosquito bites!!! wahh!! i decided to count my bumps after i got home...
i had close to 30 bumps all over my body!! all huge! and symmetrical on both sides!!! will these bumps go away before kate's wedding? i dont wanna look ugly!!
and this is why although such peaceful, beautiful, natural organic living can be nice, i'd rather live artificially where no things are supposed to be alive around me except for other humans...
