bah, my old neck
ah, yes, our trip to cedar point, "the roller coaster capital of the world", had been fun. our driving trips to and from, however, were kinda dreadful and boring. we had music, munchies, gossips... still, i admire those that love road trips for hrs and hrs on end. how can you enjoy something so boring so much!!! don't get me wrong, i LOVE driving, but seeing the same nothingness, not even cows or horsies, is damn boring!
merly came to my apt around 5:30am and we went and picked up james (thompson) that near boofoo near lagrange and went on our merry way. wohooo! the park was pretty big, and of course we didnt to on every single ride. thompson was proud us cuz he took us on all the big rides, and as much as we *SCREAMED* for fun on all the rises and drops of the rides, we were happy campers and didn't cry. really, i am a screamer, and as much as merls and i whined and pseudo cried while in line, all the rides were fun. we started with the RAPTOR, kinda like the batman rides. its one with your feet dangling... some moderate drops, twists and turns. ahhh!!
the other big ones we did were millenium force and top thrill dragster. you can read about the rides here! wooo, the millenium force was really scary initially, cuz you climb up this gigantic hill at top speed (you are not lifted by the cranking cable chain, but the fast ones that move the escalators, i think), then you experience a drop of, i think, 300 something ft, followed more fast drops and turns. i think i was still tachycardic for like 15 min afterwards.
the most trilling, though really not as scary ride was the dragster. this ride-- shoots you out at ~120mph, and you go vertically UP to 400 something ft with a turn, and you drop vertically down all the way to ground level. SCREAMMMM! this one, my body actually didnt feel as bad cuz the rise and drop are so *vertical* that my stomach is forced against my back, instead of forced up to my throat like those 45-degree drops. woo!
then, as we were winding down on our park tour, a heavy storm came down. it was pretty much a mark to the end of journey, since we had been in the sun all day and were tired! i dashed out while we tried to wait the rain out to get some dippin' dots. mmmm...
unfortunately, my neck was already in some discomfort and pain PRIOR to cedar point, probably from a combination of swimming and biking lately. well, these roller coaster rides certainly did NOT help! oww oucccchhhhhh. such an old woman! :(

yesterday, thursday, was back to work day. bah, and in so much pain! afterwards went out to boofoo suburbia to swim with barbarines again. this time we swam two round trips to the far buoy. the total distance probably just a bit under 0.5 mile. i think i am starting to get more confident. i really think i should run and warm up for a mile or something before swim. it takes forever to get in the groove. my stroke is improving though.. yay! i can feel myself pulling water instead of just rotating them in the water. i can pull fairly leisure strokes at low revolution and still going forward. instead of leftrightleftrightleftrightleftright... i still wishy i have bigger lungs :(
after that we went to EXTREME boofoo for some ice cream at oberweis. i love oberweis, but man, the long drive and extreme boofooness totally turned me off about suburbia hickville again. at first i thought i was not minding driving long time for outdoor activities. seriously, pseudo wisconsin had been very nice to me, but when one starts adding hickvilles to the picture, yuck. i will start avoiding suburbs again. ugh ugh, vomit vomit. i will just go to san diego and enjoy the outdoor-ness in the city instead. hmmm, maybe i will move there.
