just a mishmash of stuff...

hmmm, i really dont have much exciting stuff to update you love audience with. school has not been very thrilling; just crapload of standard school work and papers. i suppose i will "try" to tell you some recent weirdness i have seen.

last week

1) so one day i was running towards the lake to start my run, i saw this small group of people all bending down, awww'ing in exclamation. i was like, what the... apparently, this man was walking some ugly chihuahua type dog. what's so special about the dog? well, its coat was dyed HOT PINK. that's right, boys and girls, a hot pink dog he was walking. the women were like... awww... its sooo adorable. sooo cute.

i dont know about this coloring of dog's hair to unnatural colors. i know many frou frou people take their pet friends to boutiques for special groomings, but hot pink?? eh!

2) then as i continued running, i saw some FOR RENT signs on an apt building. hmmm, so what's so special about them? i suppose it was more funny than special- when i saw next to these signs OTHER signs that say NO VACANCY. what advertising genius!

this week

1) this past sat was a *SURPRISE* bday party for sharon. it was her big 30. well, i guess she was not thrilled whatsoever about turning 30 as she is the girly type that wanna be loved and rescued by a loving man early on. anywho, several of her friends and i had been planning and emailing back and forth for the past 2 wks. ten thousand email exchanges a day!!! waaahhh.

karen helped to convince her on COAST, a frou frou byob sushi restaurant in bucktown. we decided on a collaborative scrapbook as a gift featuring the decades of sharon: her as a child; sharon as an adolescent; sharon as a young adult at u of i and the years after. the friends will decide which particular decade or part of her life they fall into and will make their personal pages of scrapbook according to it. naturally, i fell in the category of sharon's late 20s. the finished product was absolutely fantastic. all her friends are so talented and everything was beautiful. my shitty pages really looked shitty. awww...

in the emails we also coordinated who to bring the cake from some famous bakery, montblanc, in arlington hts; who to bring the party ballons and trickets; time to meet...etc. we created a "fake" evite for sharon in which only a few "loyal" friends agreed to come to coast, and rest would make up various excuses. haaaaa.

anywho, so denise was in charge of bringing sharon to the party. i was the wishy washy friend telling her that i will try to come to dinn but will be late. anywho, so xochi, karen, and i were pretending to wait by the door for our table when they showed up; the other girls were hiding. prior, we had asked to hostess to pseudo walk us back to the table so it wouldnt be weird if we just walk directly in. then we walked all the way to the back to our reserved table, i gestured the girls to come out... then SURPRISE!!!!!

ooh everything turned out so prefectly. she had no idea. finally, we could breath!!! i think she was happy. awwww...

anywho, this BYOB business made me drink too much. normally i would be fine, but sushi is just not greasy enough to keep things settled. next, i left them to go to another bday party- for sbx stacy. i continued drinking more wine there, but unfortunately i couldnt stay long as i really was not starting to feel very good. then that's when i knew i should GO HOME and STAY HOME. waaaahhhh, couldnt physically (yikes) meet up with sharon and co for more partying later. nevertheless, im glad that all turned out well.

2) so was working at the pharm yesterday. yes, angry customers come and go all the time. that is why one must keep a light heart. haaa, so this chick became very angry when she saw how much her copay would be for her certain contraceptive. she threw the thing and her credit card down, and was like, I AM NOT PAYING (price) FOR THIS SHIT!! MY COPAY SHOULD BE (this other price). since we weren't busy at the time, the pharmie came over to help out before i accidentally punch the chick in the face for fun. haaaa. while trying not very hard to go through her history due her fantastic attitude, were like, well, it looks like its the price that the insurance is telling us to charge you. and it doesnt look like you have a deductible. I DONT HAVE A $&^*_+@#^ DEDUCTIBLE I HAVE HMO! she then picked up her phone to call the insurance company and was extremely angry. she then asked if this was something she could get from mail order pharmacy. we were like, yeah for most contraceptives you can get from mail order and may be cheaper.

she was like, I MIGHT AS WELL JUST THIS TODAY THEN. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. she then looked at me and was like I GUESS THIS IS WHY SO MANY PEOPLE GET PREGNANT!!!

haaaa, it made me laugh more than angry, seriously. i was just like (of course, didnt say it out loud), why dont you just not have sex if you are so worried about being pregnant. sheeesh. if you choose to be single and fab and playful like some of us, you suck it up and pay for stuff you need. other items like external protections all add up too. thats why they invented risk-benefit analysis, girlfriend. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaa.
