one down, one to go...

ah yes, the first week of school...

so far the first week of school has been drastically boring. what a surprise. the typical pickup (opening) line is, hey how's your summer? what did you do? did you get to travel anywhere.

this must be why i find people and life boring all the time. unless you are someone i actually care about at the rare moments that i actually care to listen, i really have no interest in hearing what you have to say. this must be why i find people i meet at bars boring... for most of the time! hmm, let's see, the entire pharmacy bldg has been upgraded to wireless ready from just the computer lab. welcome to the tech age; i thought we have been introduced to wireless at the beginning of this century. who knew!? the escalator is still broken... i guess they couldn't fork over the down payment by holding off the wireless investment. perhaps more of people i know and care about will accidentally trip on the jagged edge of the steps and injure themselves AGAIN despite my alarming, semi-sarcastic, urgent email to the entire college of pharmacy, including the dean. HA!

on the funner side of things-- my back is feeling better. all very surprisingly, i think it felt better after working it too hard on my bike on sunday? man, if i had known, i might've actually worked out to stay toned and radiant this last month instead of being lazy in name of nursing my pain?

im also apt-sitting for mag from starbucks and her husband this wk. they are having fun camping out west. chet really wants someone to be able to STAY at the apt while they are away; i said i could do it for a *few* days. therefore, i am here until thursday morn, then someone else is here til the end. their kitty is sooooo cute, but i believe that she hates me. she is not a very friendly cat, but even worse she also ignores me and when she does not, she attacks me! MEOW!! the 3 birdies are cute, but very loud. their apt is very comfy and it's an interesting change cuz they are very artistic people with much of mag's smart photography portfolio exhibited on the walls.

on the even funner side of things-- for the first time since my couch delivery, i finally spent some time to work on removing the hind legs from my couch. those staples are hard ass to remove, and there are endless hidden ones that you keep uncovering. luckily, once you get a few, you start to get the hang of it-- pry a nail, undo several staples, lift fabric; repeat. i finally got one of the legs off!!! tomorrow, if i have some time, i guess i will start working on the other. if not, i think i will devote all of friday afternoon for it! so freakin' time-consuming. afterwards, i went to home depot to pick up a staple gun and some staples for restapling the fabric back on when i will have successfully moved the couch from kitchen to living room! wooo, home improvement!
