i owe it to cookie...
alright kids... i dont owe anyone any cookies. since i made a quick post to carol, who is my favorite, about my new shoes, i decided that owe it stoooops our san diego post. i have promised her weeks ago that i would update, but i just haven't been able to. here it is!!
since i am tired and lazy, i will use mostly pix.
~*~*~SUN DIEGO~*~*~
"i wish i could quit you." on day 1 (ok or pseudo day 1 since i flew in the monday night before), mari, stace, and i went hiking at torrey pines. the trails were just beautiful. on one end of the cliff we could see the whites of waves, and on the other side we could see giant rocks, endless torrey pines, as well as citysape of san diego. the hike was just so peaceful and really made one feel nature's embrace. we even observed ecological funs!!
do you see the "ribbons" of water in this pic? well, it's where the salt water comes in and mixes with fresh water, creating a special eco system that houses a diverse and interesting group of organisms!
after our hike, we went and had fish tacos and shrimp burritos for lunch, then one of them fancy califorinian frozen treats at HUMPREY YOGURT. mmmm, and some hot tubbing at stace's resort like apt complex. later on that evening, we had some so-so korean food at la jolla (yes, k food is definitely better in chi-town than SD!!) and went salsa dancing. haaaa, i can't dance, but it was tons of fun!
day 2 was a day of adventure. KAYAKING!!! whoo! last year when i came to SD with carol, we had an awesome time kayaking in the ocean at la jolla.. along with some extremely funny moments. that's why i had to live up to it again! this time, mari, stace, and i just kayaked at mission BAY. the waves were very calm, but even though it was not as dangerous as last time, it was still very enjoyable. just being on the water, having some needless reflections on life and love. mmm...
day 3 was a bit more relaxed since stace and chi had clinical stuff in the morning and busy trying to be nursies. mari had left for chicago the night before. therefore, i enjoyed myself by sleeping in and sunning at the pool and reading "the DA VINCI CODE." after stace came home, she took me to in n out for the famous west coast burger. mmmm... cholesterol... afterwards we took a walk at mission beach, rode the pseudo roller coaster, then enjoyed a nice sushi meal at sushi deli 2 in downtown SD.
day 4, friday, was my last day here. very short time. we went jogging by mission bay to enjoy the hind sight of hot boys (including one scrawny runner that's tall, pale, red, and pseudo awkward looking that we believe that calabanga will swoon over. <3 then we returned to her pool for stace to teach me how to do a flip turn and swim correctly. alas, i was too elementary for her to stay patient and believe that im not retarded. oh well...then, we went and got shiao-long-bao and dumplings for lunch! sooo good! though not as good as the true taiwanese or "ding tai phong" in vancouver or toronto, very very tasty. these baos made the stupid ghettos ones i tasted in chicago seem like CRAP.
next, it's time to get ready for the airport!!AWWWW, so sad. SD has become one of my favorite places to relax, enjoy the rich and money (though i have none), beauteous serenity, and the good food. i will definitely continue to vacation there!!
